Deserto: This name comes from Monte Deserto where the vineyards are located but this is not a desert wine, this is a dry white wine with a classic flavour profile of the Verdicchio grape.

For the Deserto production the winemaker selects the bunches that grow closer to the vine trunk. These grapes have more ripeness thanks to their position on the vine providing greater concentration of flavours.
A carefully selective harvest is followed by extreme care in all the production phases, a traditional processing in the absence of oxygen. This extra care in selecting only the best grapes means that the quantity produced varies from vintage to vintage.

Closed with a glass stopper, every single bottle is wrapped by hand  in a lovely yellow packaging (Making this great if you are looking to send a gift!).

Tasting notes
Out of the 4 Verdicchios wines produced by SOCCI winery Deserto is surely, the most “Verdicchio”. It provides a more classic expression of the historic Marche vineyard. The colour, in this case, is the unmistakable one of the grape variety, straw yellow with the classic watercolour brushstrokes of green the aromas are the real calling card of a wine that, with every breath, reveals notes of anise, almond, with hints of juicy ripe fruit. A mineral palate, sometimes marine. A nice mix of structure and momentum.
